What is Community Connection?


Located in Southeast Queens, Community Connection is one of the Family Enrichment Centers (FEC) in NYC.  We use a community-centered and strength-based approach, working in close partnership with the community to co-design the services, supports, resources, and opportunities that best meet the needs of their children, their families, and their community. It is our mission to provide a safe space for the cultivation of community, connection, creativity, culture, and empowerment.

Why should I visit Community Connection?


At CC, community members are able to connect, contribute to their neighborhood, find resources, learn, and share with others. A place of hope, healing, and empowerment, the CC FEC is a family center designed to meet the needs of the whole family. From economic empowerment to civic engagement to tenants’ rights, to community-led projects and programming, and much more, we are a community incubator where dreams are cultivated, hope is realized, and connections are made.

Who can visit Community Connection?


Community Connection is open to ALL residents of Southeast Queens. Our offerings provide community members with the resources and support that address the needs of their community fostered through the power of choice and endless collaboration. From idea to strategy, pilot to implementation—it is the local community that inspires and drives our offerings. And it is the families and community that will help shape our vision well into the future. Here’s to the start of an amazing future! Let’s create it together!

At CC FEC, our team is made up of committed leaders with deep roots in the southeast Jamaica Queens community.
We grew up here. Live here. And serve here. We are Community Connection. And we are here for you.

Jacqueline Denson

She is a visionary and compassionate communicator as well as an enthusiastic learner. In addition to her certification in Personal Development Coaching, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Public Affairs and Administration. She walks barefoot in the grass when possible, enjoys jazz music, and dances like no one is watching.

Preston Baker

In addition to serving on several boards within the Southeast Queens Community, Preston is a local community organizer. Preston is a proud graduate of Queensborough Community College and John Jay College for Criminal Justice.  A true boxing enthusiast, Preston is an undercover top chief with a heart for poetry.

Deborah Cain

As a former paramedic and police officer, she is excellent at assisting the public in locating resources in order to solve problems when they arise. She enjoys roller coasters, and traveling, and is an avid foodie with a background in culinary arts.Â
